Erasmus - Young Historians
This project focus on the necessity and the responsibility to educate and remind young people of the importance of our cultural heritage respect and the need to safeguard it, because we are strongly convinced that our heritage shapes our identity and forms the history of humanity. Helping and encouraging the youth to create a positive attitude and contribute to a change of behavior towards heritage preservation is an important aim of this project.
Young people learn about World Heritage sites, about the history and traditions of their own and other cultures, about ecology and the importance of protecting biodiversity. They become aware of the threats facing the sites and learn how the international community as a whole unites to save our common heritage. Most importantly, they discover how they can contribute to heritage conservation and make themselves heard. Knowing better our history, roots, language and culture helps us to construct our identity and a sense of belonging and awareness of the other cultures.
